Last week in the Capitol, House Minority Leader Tony McCombie addressed ongoing issues at the state’s Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). Delays have continued to affect Illinois residents in need of professional licenses, causing bipartisan frustration. “This has been going on for years, and people’s lives shouldn’t be played with,” said Leader McCombie.

The Representative’s district office has received numerous complaints from constituents impacted by delays and lack of communication at IDFPR. In response, Leader McCombie filed legislation aimed at improving the process at the agency. The License Convenience Act (House Bill 4855) mandates the department to accept electronic payments for licenses and fees.

“My bill has bipartisan support, it provides a necessary solution, and I am incredibly disappointed it was prevented from moving forward,” said Leader McCombie. “This agency is completely mismanaged, and they’ve continued to be called out with no results.”
