FOIA Request to East Dubuque City Council Regarding Information on Council Members on October 15, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at NW Illinois News have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the East Dubuque City Council.
The request, sent on October 15, 2024, seeks detailed information about all council members. Specifically, we asked for the following fields for each member: their name, title, year appointed, term length (2 or 4 years), and term expiry date.
Access to public records is essential for us at NW Illinois News as it enables us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
