This week, a special reception was held by the House Minority Leader to honor Brent Hassert, a former Republican lawmaker who passed away this past summer. Hassert left a significant impact on both past and present members of the General Assembly. A special resolution was read in his memory in the Illinois House, with the Hassert family attending in the Speaker’s gallery.
The House Minority Leader addressed the House Floor during the second day of the veto session. Additionally, Leader McCombie engaged with students from the University of Illinois Springfield’s Public Affairs and Reporting program.
The session also included discussions with lawmakers from both parties.
