Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie, in collaboration with the City of Savanna and the Savanna Fire Department, is organizing a community blood drive. The event will take place on December 27th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Savanna Fire Department Truck Bay located at 101 Main Street, Savanna.
Leader McCombie emphasized the importance of donating blood during this season by stating, “Every blood donation can help save a life, and this holiday season, I encourage anyone who is able to give back in this way. The gift of life is the best gift you can give.”
The annual community blood drive has historically contributed to enhancing local blood supplies. Leader McCombie anticipates similar success for this year's event.
Individuals interested in participating are welcome to walk in or make an appointment. To schedule a donation time, potential donors can contact the Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org.
Additionally, donors have the option to expedite their donation process by up to 15 minutes by completing pre-donation reading and questionnaires through RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass on the day of their appointment.
