House Minority Leader Tony McCombie recently expressed concerns about the current Lame Duck session, emphasizing a lack of inclusivity in decision-making processes. McCombie criticized the tendency to advance initiatives without comprehensive participation from all parties involved.

“Lame duck is not the time to push through mine, or the House speaker’s, or the governor’s initiatives without having everybody at the table. That’s the problem,” stated McCombie. He highlighted what he perceives as a recurring issue within the Democratic caucus: “Here, you’ve got the rule of 60 in the Democratic caucus. It’s one party one rule over and over again, decade after decade. You don’t have all of the parties together."

McCombie predicted that these actions would lead to future legislative revisions: "So, you know what’s going to happen over the 104th General Assembly. We’re going to do a trailer bill and another trailer bill to clean up the crap that comes out this week.”
