State Representative Tony McCombie has been sworn in to serve the 89th District in the Illinois House of Representatives as part of the 104th General Assembly. The district covers areas in Carroll and Jo Daviess Counties, along with parts of Boone, DeKalb, Ogle, Stephenson, and Winnebago.

The new assembly comprises 78 Democrats and 40 Republicans. McCombie continues her role as House Minority Leader, marking her as the first female to lead the Republican caucus in the last assembly.

Throughout her tenure, McCombie has focused on local control, government accountability and efficiency, and tax relief. She expressed gratitude for being entrusted by her constituents: “I want to thank the people of the 89th District for putting their faith in me to be their voice in Springfield. Public service is an honor, and I am ready to hit the ground running to instill the commonsense solutions required to improve Illinois.”

In a speech outlining her agenda for this term as House Minority Leader, McCombie stated: “Our caucus is focused on three key priorities: fostering economic growth, cutting unnecessary spending, and opposing tax increases. These priorities are not just goals; they are essential steps toward making Illinois a place of opportunity and prosperity.”
