House Minority Leader Tony McCombie has announced key appointments for the 104th General Assembly in Illinois. These appointments cover three critical committees: the Legislative Audit Commission, the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability, and the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules. These bodies play significant roles in ensuring government accountability and transparency within the state.

The Legislative Audit Commission oversees the State Audit Program, reviews public fund stewardship, and monitors corrective actions for weaknesses found in audits of state agencies. The Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability provides reports to the General Assembly about economic trends related to budgeting and fiscal conditions, aiding in determining suitable fiscal policies. The Joint Committee on Administrative Rules keeps the General Assembly informed about law implementation through agency rulemaking and helps facilitate public understanding of rules.

“These bicameral committees are uncompensated but are critically important in Illinois state government,” said Leader McCombie. “These assignments are filled with strong and serious members of the House Republican caucus to ensure checks and balances, fiscal responsibility, and legislative oversight are delivered on behalf of the people of Illinois.”

Leader McCombie has appointed several House Republican lawmakers to these positions:

For the Legislative Audit Commission:

- State Representative Charlie Meier (Okawville, 109th District)

- State Representative Amy Elik (Alton, 111th District)

- State Representative Kyle Moore (Quincy, 99th District)

- State Representative Joe Sosnowski (Rockford, 69th District)

- State Representative CD Davidsmeyer (Murrayville, 100th District), Co-Chairman

- State Representative Steve Reick (Woodstock, 63rd District)

- State Representative Ryan Spain (Peoria, 73rd District), Co-Chairman

- State Representative Jackie Haas (Kankakee, 79th District)
