Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie has announced the launch of her third annual "Valentines for Veterans and Seniors" Card Drive. This initiative invites residents of Northwest Illinois to participate by creating Valentine's Day cards for veterans and senior citizens in the 89th District.
McCombie is encouraging community members, church groups, schools, and individuals to contribute by dropping off or mailing their cards to her district office located in Savanna. The collected cards will be distributed to veterans and seniors throughout Northwest Illinois, including those residing in senior living facilities.
"Veterans and senior citizens are cherished members of our community, and this program is a small but meaningful way to show them how much we care," McCombie stated. She added that last year her office received hundreds of cards and expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with the community again this year.
The deadline for submitting Valentine's Day cards is Wednesday, February 7. Cards can be sent or delivered to State Representative Tony McCombie at 9317B IL Rt 84, Savanna, IL 61074.
