Following the State of the State Address, State Representative Brad Fritts from Dixon shared his thoughts on Governor Pritzker's presentation. In a statement, Fritts criticized the address as "political theater filled with partisan rhetoric, empty promises, and a bizarre hyper-focus on national politics." He emphasized that Illinois should prioritize its own issues like the $425 million deficit and crime rates.

Fritts challenged the governor's portrayal of a balanced budget. He stated, "While the rest of Illinois cuts back and tightens their belts to deal with inflation, the rising cost of living, and the growing tax burden, Governor Pritzker and Illinois Democrats refuse to reign in their spending habits."

The representative expressed strong disapproval over remarks he interpreted as comparing Republicans to Nazis. Fritts said he is "sick and tired of the same rhetoric, deceit, and blame" from Illinois' majority party. He also recalled past actions during the COVID-19 pandemic where he felt Pritzker exercised excessive control.

Fritts concluded by suggesting that Governor Pritzker's focus might be shifting towards a presidential campaign rather than state governance. He remarked that "Illinoisans deserve a Governor who is committed to improving the lives of our everyday hardworking citizens."
