Illinois House Republican Leader Tony McCombie has successfully advanced a bill through the Illinois House Insurance Committee aimed at eliminating co-pays for sexual assault exams. The legislation, known as HB2805, seeks to alleviate financial burdens on victims of sexual assault.

"This bill will help victims of sexual assault, giving assurance that they do not have to carry an added burden. They should not be victimized on any level," stated Leader McCombie.

The proposal has received bipartisan support and is backed by Illinois House Speaker Emanuel "Chris" Welch (D-Hillside). It will now proceed to the Illinois House for further consideration.
