Last week was an eventful period at the Illinois State Capitol with numerous advocacy groups and organizations gathering in Springfield to engage with lawmakers. Among those welcoming the influx of visitors was Leader McCombie, who interacted with the Illinois Chamber and United Counties Councils of Illinois.

In a significant move, homeschooling families arrived at the Capitol in large numbers to express their opposition to HB2827. This bill aims to introduce additional regulations and mandates for families opting to homeschool. House Minority Leader McCombie firmly supported the homeschooling families' cause, meeting with them at the Capitol and conducting a press conference where she reiterated her strong resistance to the proposed legislation.
