State Senator Li Arellano, Jr along with the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal has announced the allocation of five Small Equipment Grants to fire departments within the 37th District.

“These grants are critical for our rural emergency services,” stated Senator Arellano, Jr. “Many of these departments operate on tight budgets and depend on community fundraising just to stay afloat. This funding ensures they have the resources necessary to protect and serve their communities effectively.”

The fire departments receiving these grants include the Dunlap Community Fire Protection District ($21,985), Erie Fire Protection District ($23,919), Lee Community Fire Protection District ($25,000), Malta Fire Protection District ($11,997), and Mineral Gold Fire Protection District ($24,991).

During this period, the Office of the State Fire Marshal received 347 applications for a total of $7.7 million in funding.
