State Representative Bradley J. Fritts provided updates on his recent legislative progress and community engagements. After his time in Springfield for the third reading house bill deadline, Rep. Fritts shared that four bills he sponsored have passed through the House and are now pending action in the Senate. These bills aim to ease burdens and reduce costs for Illinoisans, especially in small and rural areas.
The bills include House Bill 1911, which seeks to assist smaller townships with audits, House Bill 2980, which updates motorcycle safety training, House Bill 3148, which aims to eliminate additional fees for mailed invoices, and House Bill 3238, which provides flexibility in paying highway commissioners' salaries.
Rep. Fritts also addressed concerns over alleged mismanagement at the Jack Mabley Developmental Center in Dixon, which has prompted a federal investigation. "Unfortunately, Mabley Developmental Center has been rife with issues and utter mismanagement for years," he remarked, emphasizing the need for corrective action at the state level.
Upcoming community events include a Lemonade Day celebration on May 5th and a sharps drop-off drive on May 8th. In recent outreach activities, Fritts participated in local engagements, including a ribbon-cutting at Elston Psychotherapy PLLC and a superintendent roundtable discussion on educational policy.
Rep. Fritts underscored the importance of community involvement and welcomed constituent visits to Springfield, advocating for transparency and accountability in government.
He concluded by inviting residents to stay informed through various channels, including his website and social media platforms.
