State Representative Bradley J. Fritts has announced his third annual summer tour, which will include events such as coffee and conversation gatherings and town halls held on most Wednesdays from June 4th to August 27th. These events aim to engage constituents in discussions about their needs and priorities. Fritts expressed enthusiasm for meeting with residents across the 74th District to better understand community needs.
Upcoming events on the summer tour include a Coffee & Conversation at Lincoln Way Cafe in Franklin Grove on June 4th, followed by a Town Hall at Clinton Township Community Center in Waterman later that day. On June 11th, there will be another Coffee & Conversation at Shabbona Cafe and a Town Hall at Leland Village Hall.
In community outreach efforts, Cledy's House of Hope celebrated its new location in Rock Falls with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This sober living facility for women will offer 42 beds upon opening this summer. Additionally, Fritts' office hosted a prescription drug drop-off drive at Mendota Civic Center with support from local partners.
Fritts also participated in the Fallen Firefighter Memorial and Medal of Honor Ceremony alongside colleagues and firefighters from across Illinois. He emphasized the importance of remembering those who have lost their lives protecting communities.
May being Mental Health Awareness Month was marked by attending a ribbon-cutting at Mindful Matters Therapy in Rochelle, highlighting mental healthcare providers' role in community well-being.
A successful Sharps Drop Off event saw 35 containers collected from the public, thanks to collaboration with Dixon Family YMCA, Lee County Health Department, and Sauk Valley Voices of Recovery.
Congratulations were extended to Granny Rose Animal Shelter for joining Discover Dixon. The shelter's staff was commended for their dedication to animal welfare.
Fritts invites constituents visiting Springfield to reach out for meetings during their visits as part of promoting government transparency and accountability.
