State Senator Andrew Chesney has announced two free document shredding events for residents of the 45th District. The events will take place on Saturday, June 21, with a shred truck available in Rockton from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and in Roscoe from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM or until capacity is reached.

“I am very pleased to be offering these free events for my constituents,” said Chesney. “I hope residents take the opportunity to safely and securely dispose of their sensitive documents at the event closest to their home.”

Participants are advised to follow traffic signs and remain in their vehicles as staff unloads cars. Parking is available for those who wish to watch their documents being shredded. Items such as paper folders, staples, and paper clips can be shredded; however, large binder clips, plastic file folders, and old floppy discs cannot be processed. Electronics will not be accepted for recycling or disposal.

For more information about the event, constituents can contact Senator Chesney’s office at (815) 232-0774 or email Lori at lyates@sgop.ilga.gov.
