Freeport Athletics reports wins and losses for girls’ teams in late August matches

Freeport Athletics reported on several recent outcomes for Freeport High School girls' sports teams, including volleyball and flag football matches held in late August 2025.

On August 26, 2025, Freeport Athletics announced that the freshmen girls' volleyball team lost to North Boone High School: "Volleyball Girls Freshmen loses to North Boone High School with a final score of 21-25, 14-25." Later that evening, the varsity girls' volleyball team achieved a win against the same opponent: "Volleyball Girls Varsity defeats North Boone High School with a final score of 25-18, 25-21."

The following day, on August 27, Freeport Athletics shared another victory for the school’s athletes: "Girls Varsity Flag Football defeats Boylan with a final score of 44 - 0."

Freeport High School is located in Freeport within Stephenson County and serves grades nine through twelve. In the 2019-2020 academic year, enrollment stood at 1,084 students (source). Of these students, grade ten had the highest concentration at 24.2 percent (Illinois Report Card). The student body was composed of approximately half white students (50.5 percent), followed by black (24.2 percent), Hispanic (11.4 percent), and Asian (1.1 percent) students according to state data (Illinois Report Card).
