City of Dixon Veterans Memorial Park Commission met Aug. 27.

Here is the agenda provided by the commission:

1. Call to Order 

2. Pledge of Allegiance 

3. Public Comments: City Council Meeting -Veterans Memorial Pathway 

4. Committee Reports 

a. Reading of prior meeting minutes 

b. Financial/Treasurer 

c. Artifacts: Jet pending completion of being painted & Tank to be painted 

d. Grounds/Buildings/Property/Maintenance:  

1. Ground Lighting: Replace with LED more affordable lights. 

2. Bollards: hire post hole dogger-9’ in depth & 4” diameter (flag pole hole) 

e. Legacy Stones-Dedication ceremony 10/12/25 

f. Flags: Labor Day- Set up Thursday 8/28 (time-?) and tear down Tuesday 9/2 (time-?) 

g. IT: Security Cameras-Charlie: City to assist with camera/monitor. DC computer assist too h. Certificate of Appreciation 

i. Memorial Donor Plaque 

5. Old Business 

a. Arbor repair-Completed and installation pending for August possibly 

b. Artifact storage shelving -post removed off trailer (Pole 15’ 2 ½”); cut to size (C-12’ 2”)

c. Flag pole-placement location finalized. 

d. Flag pole toppers needing repair/replaced 

e. 2- benches pending repairs sandblasting and coating pending 

f. Gun Raffle tickets available @ $20.00 each-take only what you can sell & get more  

g. Turkey shoot @ VFW-November 2nd 

h. Fork Truck w/5,00lb capacity and 11” clearance/hard tires 

i. Work day Saturday 9/6: paint tank/other projects. Pressure wash tank prior to painting
