The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) is organizing a series of State of Illinois Career Fairs throughout September. These events are designed to give residents the chance to learn about job opportunities with the State and meet hiring managers in person.

This week, the Career Fair will be held in Dixon. House Minority Leader Tony McCombie has encouraged local residents to attend the event.

The career fairs are free and open to everyone. They aim to provide information for people considering a career change, college students, those seeking their first job, and professionals at various stages in their careers. Representatives from different State agencies will be available to discuss jobs in fields such as healthcare, education, engineering, finance, and corrections. Job seekers can find out about current openings that include entry-level, seasonal, full-time, and supervisory positions. Attendees will also have access to guidance on applying for State jobs, creating a job profile, and setting up job alerts.

McCombie was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois' 89th House District in 2023 after Andrew Chesney.
