State Senator Andrew Chesney (R-Freeport) is encouraging families in the 45th Senate District to participate in a Veterans Day display at the Illinois Capitol Rotunda. The “Honoring All Who Served” exhibit, organized by Senate Republicans, will showcase photos and stories of Illinois veterans from October 28 through November 13.

“The ‘Honoring All Who Served’ exhibit stands as a meaningful recognition of the courageous individuals who have served our nation,” said Chesney. “By involving families, we not only pay tribute to their loved ones, but also ensure that their stories of service and sacrifice are acknowledged and preserved for all who visit the State Capitol. This initiative keeps their memory alive and their legacy strong.”

Families are invited to submit a photo and a short written story about their veteran, including details such as name, military branch, and conflict served. Submissions can be sent by email or mail by November 8. Additional information is available by phone.

“Each story featured in the display stands as a powerful reminder of the enduring importance of serving our country,” added Chesney. “Veterans are true American heroes, and they deserve our deepest admiration and appreciation.”

Chesney was elected to represent Illinois’ 45th Senate District in 2023, succeeding Brian Stewart.
