Warren Elementary School has been recognized as a Blue Ribbon School, an honor that highlights its achievements in education. Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie extended her congratulations to the school for receiving this national distinction.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has highlighted schools that help students reach their full potential for over four decades. The program acknowledges the efforts of principals, teachers, support staff, and students who demonstrate high standards and contribute positively to their communities.
This year, Warren Elementary is among several schools in Illinois and across the country to receive this recognition. The award reflects the commitment and hard work of the entire Warren community.
Although the federal Blue Ribbon program has ended, Illinois will continue to honor schools that show strong leadership, innovation, and high achievement. The state plans to maintain the spirit of the program by recognizing schools like Warren Elementary for their ongoing dedication to excellence.
Leader McCombie announced plans to recognize Warren Elementary School in Springfield during the upcoming Veto Session. She will celebrate the efforts of students, staff, and families who contributed to this accomplishment.
“The Blue Ribbon distinction represents the very best of what our schools can achieve,” said Leader McCombie. “Warren Elementary’s success is a reflection of its educators’ dedication, its students’ hard work, and its community’s unwavering support. I couldn’t be prouder to see this Northwest Illinois school recognized among the top in our state.”
Warren Elementary joins Hiawatha Elementary School in Kirkland as Blue Ribbon designees within McCombie’s district.
McCombie was elected in 2023 as a Republican to represent Illinois' 89th House District, succeeding Andrew Chesney.
