Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie is working with the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office to provide local residents with direct access to DMV services. McCombie will host a “Mobile DMV” event in Byron, allowing people to renew their driver’s licenses, buy vehicle license plate stickers, and use other regular DMV services.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 20 at the Byron Public Library, located at 100 S. Washington St., Byron, IL 61010. Registration is required, and residents can reserve a spot by visiting RepMcCombie.com.

“This event is designed to bring the DMV directly to you, so you can have the convenience of taking care of your DMV needs in one easy stop,” said McCombie. “It’s all about saving you time and making your experience as smooth and stress-free as possible.”

Available services will not include driver’s tests. Those attending must bring proper identification; a full list of accepted IDs can be found on the Secretary of State website. Payment options include personal checks and major credit or debit cards—cash payments are not accepted. Seniors aged 75 and older must visit a regular DMV location to renew their driver’s licenses.

McCombie was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois’ 89th House District in 2023, succeeding Andrew Chesney.
