Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie spoke with Fox32 about the passage of a $1.5 billion public transit funding plan in the Illinois House of Representatives. The measure, approved on the last day of the legislative veto session, aims to provide additional funding for Chicago-area transit agencies by increasing taxes.

The new plan is designed to support major transportation providers in the region, including CTA, Pace, and Metra. More details about McCombie's response and specifics of the funding plan can be found at Illinois House Minority Leader responds to new $1.5 billion plan to fund CTA, Pace and Metra | ChicagoLIVE | FOX 32 Chicago.

McCombie, a Republican, has represented Illinois' 89th House District since her election in 2023. She succeeded Andrew Chesney as state representative.
