Ogle County planning committee presents monthly bills

The Ogle County Supervisor of Assessments and Planning and Zoning Committee met Jan. 10 to present monthly bills.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the committee:

SUPERVISOR OF ASSESSMENTS AND PLANNING & ZONING COMMITTEE ofthe OGLE COUNTY BOARD

SUPERVISOR OF ASSESSMENTS AND PLANNING &ZONING COMMITTEE REPORT JANUARY 10, 2017

The regular monthly meeting of the Supervisor of Assessments and Planning & Zoning Committee of the Ogle County Board was held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. in the Old Ogle County Courthouse, Third Floor County Board Room #317, 105 S. Fifth St., Oregon, IL.

The Order of Business is as follows:

1. ROLL CAll AND DECLARATION OF A QUORUM

Chairman Janes called the meeting to order at 10:01 A.M. Roll call indicated seven members of the Committee were present: Bruce McKinney, Rick Fritz, Dan Janes, Lyle Hopkins, Tom Smith, Wayne Reising, and Ron Colson. Mr. Janes declared a quorum.

2. READING AND APPROVAL OF REPORT OF DECEMBER 13, 2016 MEETING AS MINUTES

Mr. Janes asked for a motion regarding the report of the December 13, 2016 regular meeting. Mr. Colson made a motion to approve the report of December 13, 2016 as presented; seconded by Mr. McKinney. The motion carried by a voice vote.

3. REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF CLOSED MINUTES PER 5 ILCS 120/2 © (21) (IF NEEDED)

• Approval of Closed Minutes (if needed)

Mr. Janes stated there are no closed minutes for review.

SUPERVISOR OF ASSESSMENTS PORTION OF MEETING:

4. CONSIDERATION OF MONTHLY BILLS OF SUPERVISOR OF ASSESSMENTS, AND ACTION

Mr. Harrison presented the monthly bills of the Supervisor of Assessments to the committee for consideration. Mr. Hopkins made a motion to approve the payment of the bills in the amount of $3,258.75; seconded by Mr. McKinney. The motion carried by a voice vote.

5. OLD BUSINESS

Mr. Harrison stated the Board of Review (BOR) will be holding assessment appeal hearings the week of January 23rd. There are a total of 27 hearings scheduled. The hearing on the Exelon nuclear plant is scheduled for January 26th at 10:00 am. 6. NEW BUSINESS

There was no new business for discussion.

PLANNING & ZONING PORTION OF MEETING:

7. CONSIDERATION OF MONTHLY BILLS OF PLANNING & ZONING DEPARTMENT, AND ACTION

Mr. Reibel presented the monthly bills of the Planning & Zoning Department for consideration. Mr. Hopkins made a motion to approve the payment ofthe bills in the amount of $360.35; seconded by Mr. McKinney. The motion carried by a voice vote.

8. OLD BUSINESS

There was no old business for consideration.

9. NEW BUSINESS

A. DECISIONS (CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION)

#5-16 AMENDMENT - Lisa L Lovett, 5600 S. Hickory Rd., Oregon, IL for an Amendment to the Zoning District to rezone from AG-l Agricultural District to R-l Rural Residence District on property described as follows and owned by the petitioner:

Part of the SW1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 34 Pine Creek Township 23N, R9E of the 4th P.M., Ogle County, IL, 5.0 acres, more or less Property Identification Number: Part of 15-34-200-007 Common Location: 5000 block of W. Penn Corner Rd.

Mr. Reibel reviewed the petition, and informed the Committee that the petition was recommended for approval by the Regional Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Mr. Janes asked for a motion regarding the petition, and Mr. Hopkins made a motion to approve Petition #5-16AM; the motion was seconded by Mr. Smith. The motion passed via voice vote.

B. MOBILE HOME APPLICATIONS (CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION)

There were no mobile home applications for consideration.

C. SUBDIVISION PLATS (CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION)

There were no subdivision plats for consideration.

10. REFERRAL OF NEW PETITIONS TO THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS FOR PUBLIC HEARING

There were no new petitions for referral. Mr. Reibel noted that the Regional Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals will not meet in January.

11. OTHER BUSINESS (CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION)

Chairman Janes stated we will vote on the vice-chairman in February. 12. PUBLIC COMMENT

There was no public comment.

13. ADJOURN

Having no further business, Mr. Janes declared the meeting adjourned at 10:14 A.M. The next regular meeting of the Supervisor of Assessments and Planning & Zoning Committee will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:00 A.M.
