Construction work on two Illinois 84 bridges in Whiteside County is set to begin on Monday, October 13, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. The affected bridges are located at crossings over Johnson Creek north of Illinois 136 and over the BNSF railroad two miles south of the Carroll County line.
The project will involve cleaning and painting both bridges. During construction, only one lane will remain open at each bridge, with traffic controlled by temporary signals. Work is expected to be completed by mid-December, weather permitting.
