Schmaling Memorial Public Library District Board met Feb. 21.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
Teresa called the meeting to order.
Members present were Nancy Countryman, Jodie Dornbush, Paula Ensinger, Sandy Hamilton, Barb Knight, Teresa Ray and Tom Stange. Britni Hartman was also present.
A motion was made by Tom to approve the minutes of the January 17, 2017 meeting with two corrections. All ayes were heard, and the minutes were approved.
Barb made a motion to pay the bills. The motion carried with a 6-0 roll call vote.
Librarian's Report
Britni has hired Cathy Eversoll as the new custodian.
After the PrairieCat update, we needed to return the unused grant funds of $1310.75.
Building and Grounds Committee

Finance Committee
1. There are two corrections on the last page of the “Grants, Gifts and Memorials” report. The entry for Baker and Taylor in the amount of $261.45 should be broken down $222.95 from books #201 and $38.50 from audio-visual #203. And the entry for PrairieCat in the amount of $112.34 should be -112.34. The total is correct.
2. Nancy distributed the December 31, 2016 endowment statements from Community Foundation of the Great River Bend. We have $1400 available to withdraw from the Schmaling Memorial Public Library Endowment and $500 from the David and Lida Flikkema Memorial Endowment.

Miscellaneous Items
1. Deb Wheat decided against being a trustee.
2. Nancy made a motion to require two signatures on all of our checking accounts. Motion carried with a 6-0 roll call vote.
3. Board agreed to change our regular meeting date to the third Tuesday of each month at 5pm.
4. The FACE Gardening Grant is due in March. Britni suggested we wait until next year to apply.
5. Teresa, Britni and Jodie have completed their OMA training and Tom has completed his FOIA training.
6. Statement of Economic Interests are due May 1.
7. Jodie completed her Oath of Office.
8. Our next meeting is on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 5 p.m.
9. Nancy made a motion to adjourn. All ayes were heard; motion passed.
