Analysis: Savanna pays $10.23 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Savanna Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 91.1 percent of the $106,141 the Savanna Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $10.23 for every $1 from pension members, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Savanna contributed $96,690 to the fund, which saw a $10,139 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $9,451, or 8.9 percent, in 2016.
