Report: Paw Paw spent $15,872 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Paw Paw Community Unit School District 271 is up 5 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lee County school district spent $15,186 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $15,872 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 238 to 205.

Paw Paw's spending in 2016-17 was 22 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
