Report: Ashton Franklin Center spent $10,940 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Ashton Franklin Center Community Unit School District 275 is down 3 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lee County school district spent $11,288 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,940 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 560 to 507.

Ashton Franklin Center's spending in 2016-17 was 16 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
