Report: Creston spent $13,548 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Creston Community Consolidated School District 161 is up 36 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Ogle County school district spent $9,958 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,548 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 109 to 95.

Creston's spending in 2016-17 was 4 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
