Report: Dixon spent $9,712 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Dixon Unit School District 170 is up 3 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lee County school district spent $9,438 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,712 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2772 to 2771.

Dixon's spending in 2016-17 was 25 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
