Report: Galena spent $12,587 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Galena Unit School District 120 is down 0 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Jodaviess County school district spent $12,642 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,587 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 817 to 840.

Galena's spending in 2016-17 was 3 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
