Apple River FPD responds to nine fires in 2017

Apple River Fire Protection District responded to 10 calls in 2017 - 11.1 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Apple River included nine fires - six structure fires, one vehicle fire and two other fires.

In all, the department saw $15,000 in fire loss - or about $1,667 per fire.

The department also received one false call.

The Apple River Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $65,183 in 2017.
