Chadwick-Milledgeville Community Unit School District 399 students suspended 37 times in a single school year

Chadwick-Milledgeville Community Unit School District 399 reported 37 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 37 students during the year. That equates to 7.3 percent of the 504 students enrolled.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 16 incidents. There were nine incidents of violence without physical injury. For 24 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 11 out-of-school suspensions, all were given to boys.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes six incidents. There were five incidents of violence without physical injury. For seven incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
