Of the 227 out-of-school suspensions, 189 were given to boys and 38 were given to girls, including 97 elementary or middle schoolers and 130 high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 203 incidents. There were 11 incidents of drugs. For 90 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
