City of Freeport City Council met July 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

BE IT REMEMBERED, that the City Council of Freeport, Texas met on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Freeport Police Department, Municipal Court Room, 430 North Brazosport Boulevard, Freeport Texas for the purpose of considering the following agenda items:

City Council: Mayor Troy T. Brimage

Councilman Brooks Bass

Councilman Green

Councilwoman Sandra Loeza

Councilman Roy E. Yates

Staff: Bob Welch, Finance Director / Interim City Manager

Chris Motley, Fire Chief

Kim Townsend, Parks / Rec. Director

David Hoelewyn, Streets Director

Leann Strahan, Museum Director

Ray Garivey, Police Chief

Loni Kershaw, Human Resources

Brian Dybala, Golf Course Director

Visitors: Melanie Oldham Larry Fansher

Call to order.

Mayor Troy T. Brimage opened the Work Shop at 6:00 p.m.

Work Session:

Discuss and review proposed fiscal year budget 2018-2019.

Mr. Welch presented the proposed 2018-2019 budget for review. The following requests for changes were presented.

Loni Kershaw, Human Resource Director asked if they could add another Full Time Water / Court Clerk.

Brian Dybala, Golf Course Director asked if he could add a pavilion, sand rake and a rough mower to his budget.

Kim Townsend, Parks and Recreation Director went over her budget and asked for a mower, skate and dog park and a new roof for Freeport Municipal Park.

Adjourn

On a motion by Councilman Bass, seconded by Councilwoman Loeza, with all present voting “Aye”, Mayor Brimage adjourned the meeting at 8:06 PM.
