Leafpickup

City of Lanark issued the following announcement on Sept. 26.

The Maintenance Department will begin community-leaf pick-up each Tuesday of the month, starting Tuesday, October 16, 2018 and will continue until the first measurable snowfall. Please be advised that other duties may arise that are priority or an emergency and may push pick-up to a different day. The city crew can move through an area very quickly, and once they pass your address they will not return until the following pick-up date. So Please have your leaves out the night before pick-up date. This information supersedes any previously published instructions prior to the date listed above. Unacceptable items must be removed within five (5) days of being notified or a violation notice may be served.

Please note:

Leaves must be placed in a continuous row at the curb line.

Only Leaves are accepted. Please do not place any grass clippings, yard waste, sticks, rocks, or trash in the leaf pile, or any other foreign objects. These items can damage the collection equipment; If such waste is placed curbside, city crews will refuse collection.

Please do not park vehicles on or immediately next to the leaf pile.

Please do not cover storm sewer grate with leaves.

Maintenance will continue to collect brush year-round throughout the city.

Crews will collect brush every Monday as long as the weather is permitting. Please be advised that other duties may arise that are a priority and may push brush pick-up to a different day. Major storms may also affect the schedule, and notice of any special brush collection will be posted here on the city website.
