Lee County approves closing Paw Paw High School

Lee County said "no" to one referendum and "yes" to two others on Nov. 6.

Lee County voted in favor of the deactivation the Paw Paw High School facility in Paw Paw Community Unit School District No. 271  and to send pupils in Paw Paw High School to Indian Creek Community Unit School District No. 425.

With 100 percent of the votes counted, there were 363 votes in favor and 301 opposed.

Lee County voted against a proposition to elect board members at large for the Polo Community Unit School District Number 222.

With 100 percent of the votes counted, five were in favor and 10 were opposed.

Lee County voters approved the Amboy Community Unit School District No. 272 referendum, choosing

to issue $15.8 million in school building bonds.

With 100 percent of the votes counted, there were 1,089 votes in favor and 983 opposed.
