City of Dixon issued the following announcement on Nov. 30.
This allows them to go door-to-door between the hours of 9AM to 9PM.
Universal Direct Marketing IS NOT selling anything or speaking on behalf of the city. You have every right to turn them away if you do not want to purchase what they are selling.
When a solicitor comes to your door they should always be able to produce a license. We urge citizens to ask solicitors to show the license they have received from City Hall as proof that they are authorized solicitors. If they are unable to produce the license, disengage from the conversation and call the police. You can reach the police department at 815-288-4181.
As a reminder, citizens should be careful about what information they give to solicitors.
