City of Sterling issued the following announcement on Nov. 29.
The snow emergency has been lifted. Odd/ even and alleys were completed yesterday and all the streets in the downtown have been hauled out with the exception of W. 5th St from Locust to Ave C and Ave C from W.5th St to W. 3rd St. We will be working on the parking lots tomorrow ahead of the festivities downtown Friday night.
We were able to scrape Locust St and eliminate the “snow potholes.” Unfortunately, we haven’t had as much luck with E. 3rd St. but we will continue to scrape.
In anticipation of the 1.25” of rain they are calling for Saturday, we have two pieces of equipment out making sure storm inlets are open and able to drain to prevent as much flooding as possible this weekend.
Again, thank you for the patience so many of you showed in the aftermath of a 12" blizzard!
