City of Galena issued the following announcement on Dec. 19.
The City of Galena offers a free Christmas Tree Collection program beginning in December and ending January 18, 2019. Cut live trees may be dropped off at temporary bins erected in various locations throughout the community. Trees must be free of all ornaments, tinsel, and lights. Any stands, plastic, or bagging material must also be also be removed. Trees will not be collected as part of regular weekly curbside pickup.
2019 City of Galena Tree Collection Sites:
1. Depot Parking Lot, 91 Bouthillier Street
2. Recreation Park, 1801 Field Street
3. New Location! Corner of Elk and Hickory Streets
We are no longer collecting trees at Cemetery Park.
