Report: Erie spent $19,715 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Erie Community Unit School District 1 is up 22.1 percent from five years ago, according to a NW Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Whiteside County school district spent $16,144 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $19,715 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 670 to 649.

Erie's spending in 2017-18 was 47.8 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
