The price of local government in 2016: City of Oregon

The City of Oregon budget was $9.70 million for its 2016 fiscal year, or $5,946 per household.

That's an increase of 1.1 percent from 2015, when the city spent $9.59 million, or $5,880 per household.

Oregon has 1,631 households and a population of 3,721.

Since 2001, the City of Oregon budget has grown by 84.7 percent, from $5.25 million. The city population has fallen 4.4 percent over the same period, from 3,891.

Salaries accounted for 12.2 percent of city spending in 2016. Oregon property taxpayers paid $1.18 million for 22 full-time employees and five part-time employees.

In 2001, the city had 42 full-time employees and two part-time employees, and spent $786,961.
