Erie home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Erie rose by $20,500 while total sales increased by 19.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 31 homes sold, with a median sale price of $100,000 - a 25.8% increase over the $79,500 median sale price for the previous year. There were 26 homes sold in Erie in 2016.

The median sales tax in Erie for 2017 was $2,050. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,941. This marks an increase of 5.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2%.
