City of Fulton City Council met April 29.

Public Hearing

Pro Tem Mayor VanZuiden opened the Public Hearing and asked if anyone would like to make a comment on the proposed 2019/2020 Budget. With no comments the Public Hearing was closed at 5:30 PM.

Regular Council Meeting

Pro Tem Mayor VanZuiden called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM and directed the City Clerk to call roll. On roll call Ald. Mike VanZuiden Gene Field, Margaret Crosthwaite, Dan Nederhoff, Barb Mask, Paul Banker, Sue VanKampen, and Keith King. Also in attendance Randy Boonstra, Bill Shirk, Dave Bartels, Tammy Garibay, Debi Ervin, Dale Sikkema, Amanda Fosdick, Adam Wherry, Jake Willging and Dan Clark.

Pledge of allegiance was recited; invocation was given by Wayne Wiersema.

Visitors at the meeting included; Daniel Nardini, Diane Willging, Tasha Willging, Paul Willging, Abbie Bush, Amber Bush, Aaron & Sarah Bush, Matt & Sarah Mitchell, Mike Easley, Bobby Jones and Chuck Dykstra.

Approve consent agenda; approve meeting minutes from April 8, 2019 and approve treasurer’s report. Ald. Nederhoff motioned, seconded by Ald. King to approve the consent agenda. Roll call vote (8 yes).

Business

Approve the 2019/2020 City of Fulton budget. Ald. Crosthwaite motioned, seconded by Ald. Nederhoff to approve the 2019/2020 City of Fulton budget. Roll call vote (8 yes).

City Clerk swear in Jake Willging as Police Officer.

Approve renewal of lease with Nathan Smith for the Marina Repair Facility. Ald. VanKampen motioned, seconded by Ald. King to approve the lease renewal with Nathan Smith for the Marina Repair Facility. Roll call vote (8 yes).

Request from REC League to allow sale of liquor on Opening Day May 5, 2019. Will not vote on as they also need state permit and there is not enough time. Ald. Mask asked if individuals are normally allowed to drink alcohol at baseball parks, no they are not. Would have to ask for request such as this and get permit from the state.

Ald. Crosthwaite motioned, seconded by Ald. VanKampen to adjourn to the Committee of the Whole. Roll call vote (8 yes). The council entered the Committee of the Whole at 5:38 PM.

Ald. King motioned, seconded my Ald. Mask to enter closed session to discuss personnel and the sale of property. Roll call vote (8 yes). The council entered closed session at 6:30 PM.

Ald. Mask motioned, seconded by Ald. King to exit closed session. Roll call vote (8 yes). The council exited closed session at 6:50 PM.

With no further discussion Ald. King motioned, seconded by Ald. Nederhoff to adjourn. With voice agreement the council adjourned at 6:51 PM.
