The data shows that 62 men and six women were released in Freeport. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 34. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 66-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2018.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Curtis T. Robinson Jr. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2007 when he was 31 years old. He is now 44.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
