The data shows that 35 men and three women were released in the Sterling zip code. The median age of the parolees was 34. The youngest parolee was a 19-year-old man convicted of a crime against justice in 2018, and the oldest was a 53-year-old man convicted of a sex crime in 2017.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jason Gray. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2006, when he was 24 years old. He is now 37.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
