Rep. Chesney highlights 'Northwest Illinois Values' at Junior Livestock Fair

"Northwest Illinois Values" were just one of the many positives on display at the Junior Livestock Fair, according to State Rep. Andrew Chesney (R-Freeport).

After attending the event, held during the Stephenson County Fair, Chesney took pride in seeing what he says are the region's core values being passed from one generation to the next.

"These values transfer for generations, all because moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles, neighbors and friends take time to work with these young people," Chesney wrote following the event.

Chesney noted that the young people involved in the event call into question the common narratives about young people in contemporary society, and thanked them for giving him hope that the values he believes in will continue to remain strong in future generations.

"A County Fair is about so much more than concerts and carnival rides and I, for one, take strong note of the 'Northwest Illinois Values' I saw on full display at the Junior Livestock Auction," Chesney wrote.
