Illinois State House District 71 issued the following announcement on Aug. 5
The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that Cleveland Road in the Village of Colona will be closed to all through traffic from Wednesday, August 14 through Friday, August 16, 2019.
The closure will allow the BNSF Railway to perform needed maintenance to their at-grade crossing located between IL 84 and I-80, just east of IL 84. To allow continued traffic movement, a detour will be marked utilizing IL 84, US 6, and I-80. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
