Byron Forest Preserve District issued the following announcement on Aug. 26.
Night is starting to fall a little earlier, and this is a gorgeous preserve to walk during dusk and early evening. We may hear owls and will certainly see plenty of wildlife. As we finish our hike, the stars will be out and the view from Bald Hill is amazing! This will be a moderately strenuous hike over hilly terrain. Please meet at 5502 N.
