Call to Order and Roll Call
President Miriah Ranken called the meeting to order and on roll call, the following members were:
Physically Present: Miriah Ranken, President
Mark Heller, Vice President
Jonathan Jones, Treasurer
Daniel Graber, Board Member
Paul Williams, Board Member
Joanie Novak, Board Member
Present By Other Means: None
Absent: Tonya Sarver, Secretary
Also present were Superintendent Curt Rheingans, Director of Education, Nicole Zellmer, Brenda Ryan, first grade teacher, and Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Karen Collins.
Pledge of Allegiance
President Miriah Ranken led the Board of Education and the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Presentations
- State and District Test Data – Mrs. Zellmer gave a presentation on the state and district test data.
School Board Presentations for School Year 2019-2020 – Mr. Rheingans shared with the Board the presentations scheduled for the 2019-2020 school year.
b. LSSI - Mr. Rheingans explained to the Board that LSSI is going to visit every other week with the middle school students to discuss Erin’s Law, bullying, etc.
c. Budget Update – Mr. Rheingans gave the Board an update on the budget.
d. Win The Day – Mr. Rheingans explained to the Board that our motto is “Win The Day” this year and some things we are doing to promote it.
e. Life Safety Update – Mr. Rheingans shared with the Board things we need to do for Life Safety.

Mr. Heller made a motion, seconded by Mr. Williams, that the consent agenda be approved as presented.

Mr. Jones made a motion, seconded by Mr. Heller, that the Board of Education adopt the 2019-2020 Tentative Budget.

Adjourn to Closed Session
Mr. Heller made a motion, seconded by Mr. Graber, that the Board of Education enter closed session to review closed session minutes; discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of public body; litigation; collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives; or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; student disciplinary cases; the selection of a person to fill public office; and security procedures.
